I just got a hair cut today and it’s….decent but the bangs are too short…but what happened was i went to a GreatClips because it was near campus and advertised student discounts.
I entered…the lights were off and there was one guy doing a clients hair…
the rest of the place was empty except for the front with a grumpy old lady and she kinda yelled "what do u want?!" and i told her "a haircut please" and she ignored me for a few minutes doing paperwork and then finally seated me down and was like "your hair is dry! you have to buy this!!!" and showed me a $30.00 shampoo/conditioner set.
then i was like "i already used that before…"
and she ignored me and asked what i wanted and i said "can i have a razor cut and layers and try and keep the length a bit please"
and she hands me a mirror and has me tell her where i want her to cut every single layer etc!!!
I was like "i don’t really care…you’re the hairstylist shouldn’t you know? what looks best" and she got mad and i finally chose everything and while she was cutting my hair she got a phone call and was screaming and told me that the customer was there the day before and wanted one dollar back0__0
She was like "you know what i mean!?" and then she kept asking me where i wanted each layer and then she was like "how should i cut ur bangs!?" and i was like "0__0whatever…u think looks best…?"
and she got mad and told me this story of a client who told her to just go at it and then she didn’t like the haircut and she was like "so you have to already know exactly what you want before coming here!!! what were u thinking?!"
and i was like ":( um…
i wont yell at u…"
and she was like "fine!" and cut my bangs like one inch too short!!!
i was like "…" and then she tried guilt-tripping me into spending like 50 bucks in hair supplies!!!

Wow….that sounds like a pretty bad experience.
I had a bad experience with the haircut I got this past month.
My hairstylist usually does a good job, but this time….not so much.
I think it’s because my appointment was at 4:30….and her shift was over at 5….so she was just ready to get out of there and pick up her son at daycare.
Anyways…I have long thick black hair. She cut layers into the top part and leaves the bottom part the same length. Then,…she proceeds to put velcro rollers in my top layer and uses a straightener on the bottom layer. Now….I’m not a stylist or anything, but even I knew it was going to look bad.
So she takes the rollers out and I look HORRIBLE. I look like a mushroom….seriously. And I was feeling so bad…but I’m too nice to say anything. To make matters worse, I felt like the hairstylist was staring at my hair and giving me this look that said, "Wow, did I screw up? What’s not right with this hair?"
After that I went to dinner with my aunt, who said, "Your hair looks Horrible!" I was flipping out. Especially because I spent $80.00!
So I call the salon and make another appointment to come in the next day. When I get there I tell the stylist that both my aunt and another friend told me how bad my hair looks. She got really insulted and said, "How is your aunt?" "What does your friends hair look like?" She was convinced she had done a great job, and even tried to convince me that this was how Kim Kardashian does her hair. (I kind of look like Kim Kardashian, so I like to have my hair cut the way she does)
Now….my hair is a mess. Every morning I have to pull it up or straighten it. I can never just wash and wear it. Even when I do take the time to straighten it, it still looks like a black mushroom.
So sweetheart, I definitely feel for you!!!! May our hair be back to normal soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
I work in an office building and my boss has asked me to put together a short everyday meeting each morning to bring up some keys points of office safety.
1) Any ideas on common office safety or that which is not normally thought of? This is to involve all aspects, not just in the actual work envrionment ie. the parking lot, elevator etc.
2) What do you think that the best way to present this is?
3) Any fun ideas?
Insurance Loss Control departments are a good place to start, but unless you have a large enough policy,,, their efforts are less than complete.
OSHA is a great place,,,, consultative services. You can find stuff here, have them come out, etc. etc. etc. They also have some publications just for office safey. The NC OSHA website is a good one, and you can find the publications.
If your company belongs to any trade associations,,, these can also be a wealth of information.
Now,,, with an office,,,, you are going to run out of material real fast if you are doing a daily meeting. Let me knock down your work load by about 80%,,, do a WEEKLY topic.
Now, let’s see if you can come up with 52 topics for office safety. Look over the free publications, look at your OSHA 300 logs to see if you have an accident history, interview your insurance carrier loss control person since they have access to a larger number base for types of office accidents.
Once you have the topics,,, let’s talk about what you are going to do with them.
Start with a nice little sign, poster board or a bulletin board, located where everyone will see it. Time clock, main entrance, etc. This is where you set the tone for the topic. Now,,, let’s use some "inescapable messaging" to drive home the topic and the key points you want retained. Single sheets of paper as signs, at the coffee pot, mass daily emails (here is the boss’s daily requirement), refridgerator / vending machines, and my personal favorite,,, bathroom stalls and over urinals. (HEY,,, you are paying them to stand there anyway,,, might as well train them while they are at it.) Look into using payroll stuffers, or placing the topic of the week on the home screen for the puters.
On Friday,,, have a short meeting. 10 minutes. Go over the key points of the topic for the week. Then,,, pass out index cards for a short test. Each employee must print and sign their name, and the questions will focus on 3 to 5 key points of the topic. Self graded on the spot,,, and if anybody misses any questions, you go over it right then,,,, have them write the correct answer and initial it…..
Take up the cards,,, and you are going to use these next week.
This week, use the cards from last week to have a drawing. A safety LOTTO. I’ve seen prizes range from $10 gift cards to Walmart, to just picking out 5 names for chances on a monthly drawing,,,, with a $50 gift card to Walmart. You decide.
The point is,,, create something the employees will find value in,,, to keep the program alive and working.
Now,,, after you are all done with the cards,,,, YOU FILE THEM,,, as they can all the required OSHA documentation you need for OSHA required training on topics such as Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication, Basic Electrical Safety (cords and such), Emergency Actions – fire, severe weather, chemical spill, etc., Basic Fire Prevention, Ladder and stool safety, etc. etc. etc.
Now,,, couple this program with a monthly workplace safety inspection to look for unsafe conditions, such as bad chairs, extension cords, portable heaters (this one is hard in an office), loose or broken ladders, missing fire extinguishers, working Emergency lighting units, proper storage of light bulbs, toner, cleaners, etc.,,,, and the list goes on and on.
The goal is to use the inspection to eliminate physical hazard from the workplace. These are the focus of OSHA complicance,, and most insurance inspections. Then the training and messaging program has the goal of helping employees make safe descions on actions. Unsafe actions are the root cause of over 90% of workplace accidents.
This is just a start,,, but from this basic framework,,,, you can spin off a number of ideas and things to do,,,,
Good luck,,, and work safe.
If you like this answer,,, how about a BEST ANSWER picked by the asker. Want more help,,,, just let me know,,,,
