  • What is everything to expect at a disney channel audition?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under disney channel | 2 Comments »

It has always been my dream to be an actor and i think disney channel is a great place to start. I know to audition you need an agent and professional headshots but i was hoping someone who has gone through the experience of a disney channel audition could tell me how to prepare and what to expect.

I would think it would be like any other audition. Come prepared with a monologue, and they will probably have you do a cold reading. I’m not sure if they’d want you to sing or not. Ask your agent/the casting director if you get the audition what exactly is required.

What side dishes do you have with sausage rolls?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under dishes | 6 Comments »

We’re going to try making sausage rolls (we’re in USA, so we don’t have them around), what side dishes do people usually have with sausage rolls? And do you have any sauces that typically go with sausage rolls?

Sausage rolls – they are brilliant if you make them yourselves we eat them all the time in australia. Try them with tomato sauce or ketchup i think is what you call it, maybe some sweet chilli sauce that is also good. You typically eat these on their own say for lunch – they are a bit bigger than the mini ones – but i guess if you wanted to serve them with side dishes it would be some sort of salads like the other person suggested they all sound good or even vegies would be ok. Other types of sausage rolls we have over here are spinach and feta and bacon and cheese apart from the original beef ones. Basically you could do whatever you wanted. Oh and pumpkin and potato I have also had which was fab!! Have fun.

Is there a chain of salons or any salon that offers a free or discounted haircut for hair donations?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under discount hair cut | 1 Comment »

And PLEASE do not tell me "you can do it yourself just look at the requirements". I know that I can, but I would like to get my hair styled so I don’t look like bad. I plan on donating my hair to Children with Hair loss because they only want 8 inches, but I don’t mind donating to any other place either. I just want a CHEAP hair cut.

well you can go to any salon and get donate your hair there. they will do it for you and i think send it in for you. i dont know if you can get a discount anywhere though.

How do I get my son to eat finger foods?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under finger foods | 4 Comments »

My 8 month old son has been eating baby cereals and pureed food for over 2 months and has graduated to cheerios and baby mum mum rice rusks. I would like to start offering him more variety of finger foods such as small pieces of cheese, soft veggies , fruit etc but he refuses to feed himself…I have to feed it to him. Whenever I put the small pieces of food in front of him, he just ends up playing with it or tossing it over his highchair. Any tips for getting him to try to eat the food rather then play with it?

The playing with it is part of the learning process. Get a spill mat to put under him. Either give him the finger foods to play with and then offer some spoon feed if you dont think he got enough himself or offer a spoon feed then a few tidbits for him to play around with and practice with.
    Good luck.
** As well eat some of his peices before setting them down to show him what they are for may help him out.

What are some ideas a big group of preteens can do to make money?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under ideas | 2 Comments »

Please list a list of ideas, not just one. We would need to make at least $200 from each idea for the money making ideas. We give 50% to charity and a fraction of what’s left is kept for a fair we’ll be hosting.

Ahead of time, ask around your neighborhood on who has dogs and if their owners would like them to have a day out. On that pre-designated day and set time, the preteens (along with an adult to drive and supervise) pick up their dogs and take them to your local dog run (check with your local parks to see which ones have them and what their rules are).

Car washes – on a main street or go door to door offering the service

Bake sales (check with local authorities about permits)

If one or more of you has a floral garden and your parents don’t mind you pulling their flowers up, you may consider making small floral bouquets and selling them. Check your local grocery store for competitive pricing.

Have a garage sale – old clothes, coins, gently used toys and books and so on are items you can sell that are just sitting around taking space. Check your garages, basements, attics, closets, trunks, for things you long forgot about. Don’t take anything without your parents permission; even if it’s something of yours as a toddler that you don’t want, your parent may have a sentimental attachment or may have already promised it to someone else or perhaps a charity.

Rake lawns, shovel driveways – go door to door offering the service

Recycle – gather all your deposit bottles/cans and return for cash (some areas even take old newspapers)

Stand outside your local party store (ask the store manager’s permission first) and offer your balloon-inflating services for customers who do not want helium balloons (in other words, offer to blow up – by mouth – and tie a knot on each and every balloon for their party). Time-consuming, tedious jobs others do not want to do are amongst the best ways to make money.

Before doing any of these, always check with your parents, the local authorities and check to see what the going rate is to be competitive with your pricing (it’s a good idea to go a little cheaper than others to get a sale). Consider transportation (bus, gas for your car, etc.), supplies (new, not those you already have) and other expenses to come up with a realistic price. Remember, if you charge for things you already have, that hikes up the price and makes you less likely to make sales.
